Twitter has a “crypto team” that it recently formed, and the group would focus on managing everything related to digital currency, especially with payments, NFTs, blockchains, etc. However, it is still unclear if Twitter will create its cryptocurrency in the coming months, especially since it is a social media platform that has its community and users.

Twitter saw tweets from a Tess rinearson, the new head of engineering who has joined “Twitter Crypto” in the team he has formed about this new company. Its social media announcement, along with an accompanying video that shows the words âTwitter Crypto,â says a lot about the company’s next move when it comes to all things digital.
Rinearson said that the team would examine how crypto would help Twitter as a platform, and vice versa. The team would focus on cryptocurrency, blockchains and other decentralized technologies, also focusing on the improvement it would have in future developments.
The new team leader also mentioned bitcoin tipping, a known process of using the main cryptocurrency to entice favorite influencers or personalities.

As I build the team, we’ll work to understand what crypto can do for Twitter, as well as what Twitter can do for crypto. Twitter really does ‘get’ crypto (hello bitcoin tips and NFTs!), But there is so much more to explore here.

Decentralized technology like cryptocurrency and NFTs will be Twitter Crypto’s new focus and while there are no announcements to establish their coin, it’s already a massive move for them. It should be noted that Twitter is one of the first social media platforms to grapple with cryptocurrency, a lesser-known feat with Big Tech.
Twitter, cryptocurrency and Jack Dorsey
Twitter has long been involved in the cryptocurrency conversation thanks to none other than its CEO and co-founder Jack Dorsey who has talked a lot about digital currency. We can see that Dorsey’s One-Word Biography on social media is “#bitcoin” which also has the cryptocurrency logo’s “hash flag”.
It only shows that Dorsey and Twitter are set to join the cryptocurrency hype, focusing more on accepting bitcoin payments for Ticketed Spaces, a content creation tool to help them earn. Other premium posts on Twitter will follow the use of blockchain technology, especially those that involve payment like premium Super Follows, and more.
Dorsey has also voiced her fondness for Bitcoin over the months, saying the leading cryptocurrency is the “key to the future”, with different companies focusing on innovations relating to it. Square is another Twitter affiliate that focuses on cryptocurrency, and many of its businesses are about adapting digital currency, but still have unknown businesses.
