Luno Malaysia to offer more cryptocurrencies in 2022


Digital asset exchange Luno is set to expand its cryptocurrency offerings as Malaysian demand increases dramatically. Country manager Aaron Tang told a recent news briefing that the company is working on launching several new coins next year.

Luno currently offers a total of five cryptocurrencies on its platform, namely Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, Litecoin, and Ripple. Tang pointed out that having new parts is the main customer request the company has received, but he is unable to reveal them at this time as the company is currently in the process of requesting the approval by the Securities Commission (SC).

Tang also did not disclose the exact number of new parts involved in the SC’s request for approval, but did note that there were “less than ten parts” in the first half of 2022. That being said, There is already an idea of ​​what to expect as there is an ongoing user survey of the Luno app that asks users to state their top three preferences between nine different crypto coins to add to the platform. form :

During the press conference, Tang also revealed that Luno has experienced massive growth over the past year, more than tripling its Malaysian customer base from 180,000 in November 2020 to over 600,000 in November 2021. It also processed more than 12 billion ringgit in payments, four times more than the previous year.
